We had a great stay at Jack's place. The location is perfect for access to the beach and walking into Umhlanga where you are spoilt for choice on multiple restaurants and super markets. As it was initially just my son and i travelling the fact the property was very safe and secure was really important to us. Communication was always prompt. Extra special mention to Pretty our wonderful cleaner who was more than pleasant, extremely helpful and kept the property spotless. We highly recommend this property.

The place is exactly how it looks in photos, even cleaner! It is ideally located in the heart of Umhlanga ,where almost everything is two minutes away giving ease of access to the Beach, restaurants and PNP.

No mess, no fuss. The pics are accurate and the unit is perfectly located. Highly recommended!

The apartment was modern and extremely well kept. Situated on the ground floor leading on the garden and braai area. Very well situated in walking distance to the beach and town. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone. We will be back.

Very clean. Extremely comfortable beds. Decorated to a high standard. Secure parking and shaded. The ground floor meant we also had access to outside garden seating. Within walking distance of the beach,shops and restaurants. I would rate it 10/10

I have stayed at the shades before, but this unit is totally different from the rest, the mirrors, the glass, it gives the place a different and lifting ambiance and a relaxing environment.

Great apartment, clean, airy and well located. The apartment is safe and has garage and the photos show exactly what it is. A surprise was air conditioning in the rooms because in the photos you can not see. It is a 3 min drive to restaurants and bars, and very close to the beach too. The apartment caters well for 4 people.

Very well furnished and very comfortable - exactly like the pictures and description (although it seems more than 100 metres to beach!). Friendly owners and efficient room service. Because it is close to the road to the beach (uphill on the way back!) and the centre of Umhlanga, you don't need to use the car. Secure, gated environment with guard.

We had a wonderful stay at 14 The Shades and so wished we could have stayed longer. We were very happy and impressed with everything especially professionalism since we made our booking. Our lovely host welcomed us and also gave us a cheerful bye bye when we checked out. The apartment is extremely comfortable and very neat. I can easily give you 10/10. Keep up the good work and we definitely would love to stay in your apartments next time when we are in Durban. I will also recommend it to friends, colleagues and family.

A little hidden gem right in the heart of Umhlanga Rocks! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Jonathan. The apartment was clean, bright and airy, and in a fantastic location; close to the shops, restaurants and main beach. Overall a fantastic stay!

The decor, furniture, setting and appliances are exactly the way they're seen online. The apartment was absolutely lovely- so elegant. Everything right at our doorstep. My partner and I together with our friends have agreed to definitely come back. Our stay at The Shades was remarkable and really made it worthwhile. We received such a warm welcome! We've made so many wonderful memories.
